About this rental

Set behind gates on a rare acre in the Los Feliz Hills, this storied 1931 Mediterranean estate offers an extraordinary blend of architectural pedigree, privacy, and creative inspiration. Adding to the estate's unique appeal is a remarkable professional recording studio known as "The Speakeasy." Originally a hidden gathering place during the Prohibition era, the space has been transformed into a sophisticated production facility while preserving many of its historic elements, including original woodwork, artwork, and architectural details. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind creative environment where history, artistry, and modern technology converge. Available for lease at an additional fee if you choose to record here or just want a chic home to lease, this opportunity awaits you. Designed by noted architect J.H. Parks, the residence is tucked into the lush landscape surrounding Griffith Park with views of the Griffith Observatory. The home creates the feeling of a secluded countryside retreat just moments from the energy of Hollywood but situated privately above it all. Rich in character and craftsmanship, the home showcases timeless details throughout, including hand-carved mahogany doors, graceful archways, decorative period tile accents & flooring, soaring beamed ceilings, hardwood flooring and a dramatic spiral staircase. Thoughtfully updated for modern living while honoring its heritage, the estate offers an elegant balance of old-world charm and contemporary comfort. The main residence features a luxurious primary suite with an adjoining office or library, two additional ensuite bedrooms, two guest bedrooms connected by a Jack-and-Jill bath, and a collection of inviting living spaces designed for both grand entertaining and everyday enjoyment. A formal dining room, expansive living room, and charming breakfast area frame views toward the Observatory, while the chef's kitchen is appointed with premium appliances and custom cabinetry. Outside, the grounds unfold like a private hillside resort. Meandering garden paths wind through mature landscaping and tranquil gathering spaces, creating countless opportunities to relax, entertain, or simply enjoy the natural surroundings. A heated saltwater pool, pergola with fire feature, shaded lanai, outdoor barbecue areas, and multiple terraces provide an exceptional backdrop for Southern California living. Positioned above the city on a quiet hillside street, the property captures sweeping vistas of Los Angeles while remaining just minutes from world-class dining, entertainment, and cultural attractions. Griffith Park's extensive trail network is practically at your doorstep, offering immediate access to one of the nation's largest urban wilderness preserves.
